The month of February is typically known primarily for hearts, hugs, kisses, roses, and boxed chocolate. Not to take away the importance of Valentine’s day to those that look forward to it all year; however, this year it has to share the spotlight with what to some is perhaps an even more celebratory occasion...Super Bowl XLVI. 

Each year Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11^th and this federal holiday is used to honor all military veterans.  It doesn’t matter what branch of the Armed Forces that you’re from, as long as a person has dedicated time and service to this country then this day is used to celebrate everything that he or she has given to America.  Unfortunately there are those who have given their lives for the better of not only our country, but also others.  We here at Hit Trophy solute all veterans and we know that we offer nothing that can truly, fully recognize veterans for what they have done, but we do hope that some of our military awards and patriotic gifts do bring a smile to our soldiers.

For most men out there, when they think of October they instinctively think of Football season or other fall activities that may be going on.  Love and romance clearly isn’t the first thing that comes to their minds and that may be why so many men found themselves in trouble this past weekend.  Trouble you ask?  If you are from the male population, then you should have done something for your significant other this past weekend because it was Sweetest Day.  For the guys who are in the doghouse because they flat out forgot about Sweetest Day, then let Hit Trophy help you out with some belated gifts that may just soften her heart just a bit.

Can you remember what you did in September of 2001?  Obviously everyone remembers the tragic events of September 11^th, 2001.  If you’re a sports fan then perhaps you remember Michael Jordan making an announcement stating that he would come out of retirement to play for the Washington Wizards.  Chances are that other than those two major stories you probably don’t remember much about September 2001, unless you happened to get married that month or had a baby that month.   Here at Hit Trophy we also almost forgot a major day for our business that happened in the month of September, 2001.  10 Years ago today www.HitTrophy.com was born. 

We know that it’s hard to believe, but the month of October is almost here.  While we love Halloween and all of the candy that goes along with it, we’ve starting eyeing an even bigger and more meaningful holiday that comes at the end of the year.  Yes, we’ve been thinking about Christmas and chances are that at some point you have too! 

While we've taken most of the summer off from posting new articles on our blog, that doesn't mean that we haven't been working hard at Hit Trophy and HitTrophy.com to make our customer's experience easier and more enjoyable.  Since we've posted last there have been many updates made to our website and to our social media outlets as well. 

At Hit Trophy we’re always looking for things that are new to our industry, but we’re even more interested in things that are just a little different than the average plaque or trophy.  Two weeks ago we added a new line of trophies to HitTrophy.com and these items were both new and different.  The items that we added were our new line of Pedestal Trophies.

Unless you live under a rock, then you’ve most likely been keeping up with the Casey Anthony murder trial that’s been going on.  Even if you haven’t been “keeping up” with the case, then surely you’ve at least heard about the trial.  The case revolves around the mother, Casey Anthony, who is accused of killing her 2 year old daughter Caylee Marie Anthony.

This past Saturday, June 11^th Ruler on Ice pulled off one of the most spectacular upsets in recent horse racing memory.  The three year old Gelding horse was a 24-1 underdog, but in the he slushed through the final quarter mile of the race to pull of an amazing victory. 

It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to run a successful business or a successful sports team, in either situation you’re going to need good teamwork to reach the goals that you have set.  After being in business for over 47 years now, we here at Hit Trophy also know the importance of teamwork.  That’s why we’ve decided to add a Team Building Trophy to our HitTrophy.com selection of trophies.

It’s clear to all American’s that the 4^th of July is America’s most patriotic holiday, after all, it is our Independence Day.  But there are other holiday’s when Americans show of their red, white and blue.  One of those days is Memorial Day.  Hit Trophy is a very patriotic company and we have added another great patriotic award to our collection just in time for Memorial Day Weekend.

For close to 50 years Hit Trophy has been producing the classic trophies and awards for our customers, both local and abroad.  Trophies first started out being made from wood and slowly made their way to marble bases with plastic tubing.  Since the 1980’s trophies have started to have a more refined look as we started to make trophies with acrylic, glass and crystal.  Now that we’re in 2011 it seems that trophies have taken another turn, this time we have added Glass Art Awards.  We’ve added a Glass Art Awards category on our new website.

As we have mentioned before on this blog, Hit Trophy is 100% committed to giving out customers the best Customer Service possible.  One of the best ways to give good Customer Service is by having a representative able to answer any questions that you may have as quickly as possible. 

Memorial Day first started as back in the Civil War days as a way to honor both Union and Confederate soldiers who died.  After World War II, Memorial Day was extended to recognizing all soldiers who gave their lives in any war, not just the Civil War.  While it was originally called “Decoration Day, it wasn’t until 1967 when Memorial Day was officially given its name of “Memorial Day.”  Today most people celebrate Memorial Day by attending memorial services, most of which take place at cemeteries of their fallen soldiers, but there are other ways to remember and show your respect for your loved ones all year round. 

Now-a-days it seems that everyone has a Facebook.  Some people view that as a good thing that you can connect with friends of the past and keep up with family members that live far away.  On the other hand, some teenagers think it’s “lame” that their parents have Facebook and they can be friends with their friends.  A lot of businesses are also getting their own Facebook pages and that includes us as you can view the Hit Trophy Facebook Page anytime, day or night.

When the employees find a free moment in their day to discuss TV shows, it seems that it’s the reality shows that come up the most.  One of the most talked about shows at Hit Trophy is Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory.  One day while watching Fantasy Factory I surprised to see that Rob had one of the items that we sell at HitTrophy.com placed right on his desk!

The employees at Hit Trophy are very tired of all the April showers that we’ve had in Ohio this past month and that’s why we’re looking forward to May and the promise of warmer temperatures and more sunshine!  The late spring temperatures aren’t the only things heating up around here either.  With the new month of May comes new Hit Trophy Promotions and Discounts!

Creating a business is something that’s difficult to do.  Building a business can be an even larger task.  Making a business profitable and running like a well-oiled machine can be an even larger challenge.  But if you can do all of these things and do it for 47 years, then you must be doing something right.  Here at Hit Trophy the thing that we have built our business on is our high level of customer service.

On May 1^st 2011, after 10 long years since the 9/11 attacks, it was finally announced that Osama Bin Laden was killed.  According to officials, a 40 man Navy SEALs squadron raided bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan at 3:30 pm on Sunday.  

Yesterday dozens of tornadoes ripped through the south in many different areas.  It appears that Alabama was the worst hit state as they have reported 162 deaths and hundreds of buildings being flattened.  Tennessee reported 32 deaths, Georgia 13, Virginia 8 and one so far in Kentucky. 

If your business has been for close to half a century, then chances are that you have worked with or have made a product for high profile people.  At Hit Trophy this has been the case as we have made engraved awards for a President, a Czar and many Mayors over the course of the years.

Jim Tressel is the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes Football Team.  Tressel also has nicknames such as “The Senator” or “The Sweatervest” that commenters often reference him by.  If you’ve lived under a rock for the past 8 years, then you probably don’t know anything about him or the fact that he turned a pretty good football program into an elite football program.  Lately he’s run into some internal issues where it appears that he didn’t disclose information to his athletic director, school president or even the NCAA and so far that’s gotten him a 5 game suspension, with the possibility that the NCAA could suspend him even further.

Resin statues are slowly becoming some of our better selling items that we have to offer at HitTrophy.com.  Most of them come in a bronze color, while there are others that come in gold, silver and some even come painted with multiple colors.  While these resin statues are very attractive, one of the minor flaws with them is their small engraving area.  That’s why we have started to release resin statues that come with a larger glass engraving plate that has extra room for logo and text personalization.  A few examples of these newly release resin statues with glass engraving plates can be found in three separate categories. 

While the weather hasn’t exactly cooperated lately, there have been a few and far between days that have made me think of getting out the golf clubs.  The smell of fresh spring air, the brightness of a sunny sky and a breeze filled with the aroma of fresh cut grass could only mean one thing, golf. That’s why we’ve been updating our selection of golf trophies, golf awards and golf desk accessories.   

For the environmentally conscious people in this world, one of the most celebrated days out of the year is April 22^nd.  On that day America celebrates Earth Day which is a day that raises awareness for everyone to conserve their energy in a hope to save the planet.  The awards industry has slowly worked their products into becoming more “green” friendly and below are a few examples.

Mother’s might be the most loved and revered people on this planet.  No matter how mad or upset you become with your mom, there’s no doubt things will be reconciled and she’ll be back in your good graces in a short amount of time.  Why?  Because mom’s always go that extra mile for their children. 

While we all rest peacefully in our beds every night, we can do so only because of the work, dedication and service that police officers put forth during their everyday job.  It is true that some of their days and nights may become a bit mundane at times, but there are other times where they are thrown into life and death situations in the blink of an eye.
